What Does NTSO Offer?

NTSO Members Only Lounge

Communal Area

The NTSO lounge is located on the 4th floor of the LBJ Student Center, where we provide all non-traditional students with an area for studying and socializing. All members of NTSO are welcome in the lounge.

Lounge Hours (subject to change):

Monday – Friday: 8am – 5pm
Saturday & Sunday: Closed, unless NTSO event is scheduled

Computer Lab

We have four computers available with printing capabilities. The computers are on a first come, first serve basis.

Printing in the lounge does NOT go towards the University max limit for students.

The Computer Lab has a door separating it from the rest of the lounge, which can make the lab a quiet space when other members are socializing in the main area. Also there's a comfy couch and blankets for naps!

Kitchenette

We have a full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, and a coffee machine available to all non-traditional students. A selection of snacks is also provided!

NTSO Scholarship

We offer an NTSO Scholarship to non-traditional students who volunteer at NTSO events.  Please keep in mind that you are required to volunteer for at least one NTSO event to become eligible.  We understand that some non-traditional students are unable to volunteer due to other commitments and time.  That's ok!  The Osher Reentry Scholarship is another scholarship for non-traditional students, but not offered by NTSO.  You can find the applications to both scholarships under the "Scholarships" tab.

Community

NTSO Fosters a community for students who have a hard time relating to their peers due to their life experiences. Our supportive community encourages each other towards our goals, shares empathy for our unique hardships, and creates a space for career building and focus.

Networking

Because non-traditional students come from a wide range of life experiences, we encourage and provide a place to build a network of friends, connections, and possible future professional associates.
